Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our team at VonWood and help us bring the wood industry into the 21st century. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our digital timber marketplace. You will be tasked with building new features and enhancements and testing to ensure our tech meets customer needs. You will be part of the software engineering team that will shape our platform which will enable our customers and suppliers to be part of an efficient and digital marketplace.

We are looking for an ambitious individual with a strong background in software engineering. You should have experience working on REST APIs, SQL, and Web applications, as well as a deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies in this space. Furthermore, you should be comfortable quickly testing and trying out new ideas and be able to work closely with the product, design, and business development teams to bring product features to life. What wood you do?

As a Software Engineer you will be:

• Designing and building new features.

• Working together with product, marketing, and UX to create the best user experience

• Participate in setup of DevOps

• Bring your experience and best practices to help us choose best tools for the job

• End-to-end software feature ownership

• Quick prototyping to validate assumptions

• Work within a small but rapidly executing startup team.

What wood it take?

We are looking for ambitious individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments. We are building complex software solutions with a modern tech stack. Experience with ERP systems is nice to have.

• At least five years of experience in the software engineering

• Advanced knowledge of either frontend or backend development, being fullstack engineer is your goal, REST API design, OOP, and SQL are second nature to you

• You deployed Python and/or javascript code to production

• You can efficiently and accurately translate business requirements to code

• You are committed to write clean, testable and efficient code

• Fast learner - you enjoy learning, learning new things gives you energy

• Ownership - you have a strong sense of ownership over the products you create

• Self-starter - you are able to figure things out and work independently if needed

• Good eye for design

• You thrive in small teams

• Bias towards action - We learn by building things, not by talking about building things
